The Society for Risk Analysis (SRA)
invites you to submit a proposal for the
World Congress on Risk
“Risk and Development
in a Changing World”
Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre
Sydney, Australia
18-20 July 2012
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to share your research and ideas with the global risk analysis community. Visit http://sra.org/worldcongress2012 right away, to submit your proposals for:
Symposium sessions (4-5 speakers), and individual speaker abstracts as part of a symposium
Individual oral presentations (to be grouped into sessions)
Poster presentations (to be displayed during the Congress)
The proposal submission website linked above contains more information about the types of proposals and the selection criteria. All proposals submitted by 20 November 2011 will receive full consideration by the World Congress Organizing Committee. (Decisions on these proposals will be made by January 2012.) The proposals site will remain open after 20 November 2011, and proposals submitted after that date will be considered if space remains available.
The World Congress on Risk 2012 will be the third in the series of World Congresses organized by the SRA and its partner organizations. SRA held the first World Congress on Risk in Brussels, Belgium in 2003, and the second World Congress on Risk in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2008.
The overall theme of the 2012 World Congress will be “Risk and Development in a Changing World.” The three daily sub-themes will be “Disasters and Resilience,” “Global and Emerging Risks,” and “Risk and Sustainable Development.”
At this time, SRA is inviting proposals for presentations. At a later date, we will post information about the program (including plenary speakers and associated breakout sessions), hotels in Sydney, conference registration (by April 2012), and travel arrangements.
As in the past two World Congresses, SRA is seeking funding to support travel – by junior faculty/researchers, and by participants from developing countries – to the World Congress on Risk 2012 in Sydney. The Proposal website at http://sra.org/worldcongress2012 includes an option for each submitter to request information about such travel support.
If you have questions about this proposal process, please contact the SRA Secretariat, David Drupa, at ddrupa@burkinc.com
We look forward to seeing you in Sydney!
